Artist's Comments
Started with a 9"x9", B&W, Distorted, and Gridded Self-Portrait Photo.
We took an 18"x18" toned sheet of drawing paper, gridded it in scale to the photo. The goal was to make it as accurate as possible. If I get any requests, I'll post the photo it came from. --- 18"x18" Drawing Paper General's Compressed Charcoal Sticks (Black & White) General's Charcoal Pencil Kit Kneaded Eraser Art Gum Eraser White Eraser Time Taken: 3 Hours --- Photo of the Drawing taken with my NIKON D40 in Automatic Mode. I cropped in on the picture a little bit to get rid of the distracting carpet. Comments
Well, apparently the critique system won't load for me.. So I had no idea you were the product of Mom's alien abduction. The only thing I can really think to comment on is that the hair looks a little flat, like there isn't enough highlight.
-- My writing account----> ~Flamboyant-Quill I'd agree with you. I feel like that too. But there weren't many highlights on my hair in the picture so it's pretty much as flat as it is here. :<
-- *SydneyPrimal <- <3<3 Oh okay, so the assignment was to keep it as close to the photo as possible. That's cool.
-- My writing account----> ~Flamboyant-Quill Yeah. If I had added more highlights like I wanted, he would've whined about darkening it up.
-- *SydneyPrimal <- <3<3 Gotta love art teachers where everything has to be their way.
-- My writing account----> ~Flamboyant-Quill Wow... Dude, are you having a Picasso phase? This is just... I love this style. I don't know why.
-- The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done... George Carlin |

Critiques
All in all, a -very- nice piece of work. Freaky, but I can see the effort, and there's a lot of emotion hanging out in there somewhere.
