CommentsDevious CommentsThanks! I appreciate you taking the time to write that, and I totally agree with everything you pointed out. I never expected to want to paint either digitally or on a canvas, so I have no idea how to fix the things you pointed out, but that's okay.
-- My writing account----> ~Flamboyant-Quill Since the light's coming in from the top left, you might expect that it would hit the bridge of the nose, this front of the cheeks, the chin, and the lips.
With that knowledge you can make everywhere but those areas a few shades darker by default. From there, you take areas you know don't receive much light and make them a few shades darker than that. Those areas would be the bridge of the nose, the crease of the nostrils, under the cheekbone, and under the chin. Block in the first layer of shadows, blend it in to the natural skin tone, then block in the second layer of shadows and blend that in. If you want, you could also do a thin line of highlight where the light hits. Drawing arrows to the face on a separate layer could help you visualize. -- *SydneyPrimal <- <3<3 Thanks for the advice! That was a really awesome critique, and I appreciate all the feedback you've given me.

Textures and colors came out fantastic. I particularly like the texture on the tombstone. I think the edges of it could've been a little rougher, but I don't have any advice on how you could achieve that stone quality.
The blood came out fantastic. I have nothing for that one, but good job.
And the shading on the face is just a little flat. I think it could've used some darker shades, like on the side of the nose.
Still, it's excellent.
